Green Initiatives

Badger State Fruit Processing is committed to our zero waste goals. After the cranberries are processed to make juice concentrate, the remaining pulp is mixed with pectin and used in cranberry sauces.

Our interest in operating the business as efficiently as possible increases customers’ profits as well. According to Wayne Gardner, “processing the cranberries close to where they’re grown gives our customers a big cost savings.” He says, “transporting juice concentrate in a tanker is a lot less expensive than shipping berries hundreds of miles in crates.”

Gardner also strongly believes in supporting the local and state economy. As you move through the plant into the refrigeration and storage areas, the nameplates on most every piece of equipment indicate a Wisconsin-made product.
